A rack in the computer and telecommunications is a system standard physical installation of components hardware on the shelf, consisting of a large modular structure 19 inches (482.6 mm), high 1.75 inches (44.45 mm) for each unit hosted and variable length, usually greater than 600mm. The number of units of a rack is also variable: common sizes are 12, 25 and 42 units. Each rack 42 can be divided into 3 shelf (14 units each), with separate access.
